The short version
Oche is a darts app. The data we handle is the data the app needs to work — your scores, your stats, your settings, your account if you make one. That's it.
- We don't sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
- We don't run ads. No third-party tracking SDKs ship with Oche.
- Your scores live on your phone by default. iCloud sync is opt-in.
- You can delete everything from inside the app, any time, no email required.
What we collect
Locally on your device
Every throw, leg, match, training session, achievement, and setting is stored in a local database on your iPhone. This data never leaves your device unless you opt into iCloud sync or sign in for online multiplayer.
If you sign in for online play or career mode
We collect the minimum needed to make it work: a display name, an avatar choice, an opaque user ID (we never see your Apple ID), and the games you play online. Match results contribute to your ELO rating and division standing. That's the lot.
Anonymous diagnostics (opt-in)
If you opt in, Oche sends crash reports and anonymous performance metrics so we can find bugs. These reports contain no personal information and no game content. You can switch this off in Settings → Privacy at any time.
What we never collect
- Your location, contacts, photos, or microphone audio.
- Your browsing history or activity outside Oche.
- Your real name (unless you choose to use it as your display name).
- Anything from Apple's advertising or attribution systems.
Where your data lives
Local data sits in Oche's sandboxed storage on your iPhone. iCloud-synced data lives in your own iCloud account — we don't have access to it. Online-play data is relayed in real time through Google Firebase Realtime Database, keyed to your opaque user ID, and is short-lived — match data is cleared shortly after the game ends. Crash reports are discarded after 90 days.
How long we keep it
- On-device data: until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Online account data: until you delete your account.
- Match history (online): while your account exists, then anonymised after deletion to preserve other players' historical ELO calculations.
- Crash reports: 90 days.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and equivalent laws, you can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete the data we hold about you. Most of this is one tap inside the app:
- Export — Settings → Account → Export my data (gives you a JSON file).
- Delete account — Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Anything else — email oche_app@pm.me and we'll handle it within 30 days.
Third-party services
Oche uses Apple's StoreKit for the Pro purchase. The transaction goes through Apple — we never see your payment details. We do see a receipt and an anonymised purchase token so we can unlock Pro features on your account.
Online multiplayer uses Google Firebase Realtime Database to relay match state between devices in real time. Firebase is bound by Google Cloud's data-processing terms consistent with UK and EU law. Room and match data are short-lived and cleared automatically.
Children
Oche is rated for ages 4+ and contains no advertising. We don't knowingly collect identifying data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change, we'll surface a notice in the app on next launch and update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We won't change the spirit of this policy — no data for sale, no tracking — without a clear, opt-in notice.
